Let’s get Personal
You know what I realized earlier tonight while reading through some blogs? The personal blog entries are consistently the best and most compelling reads. Here’s a good example where my buddy Doug Karr expresses his passion for blogging no matter what crap he gets from people about it. After reading that post, it made me say to myself.. ‘hell yea Doug, I feel ya!’ =) His personal thoughts got me going. I noticed that a lot of my recent posts have just been discussing cool things that I’d seen or heard about.
From here on out, I’m going to try to keep it real and be more personal on geekwhat.com. Entries like ‘I’m Going Broke’ and ‘I got my Car Towed, it Sucked’ got the most response from you all and that’s awesome. I love it when we can all get in on the conversation. When the topic is relevant to the most amount of people.

So I’m going to get more raw. More personal. Because that’s the truly interesting stuff. Right?

Word up Tony…It’s kinda surprising how many people have faced the same dilemmas that you might’ve encountered and they’re general ability to relate…I say good idea…

Thanks Inderjit. I appreciate the comment buddy, you’re starting a conversation just by posting your thoughts on this entry. :)

I hate to wax poetic, but it really is simply human nature, isn’t it? We want to belong, we want reassurance, we want encouragement, and we want to connect. The personal notes really help to recognize that there’s a human on the other end of this comment post - that’s what it’s all about.
Thanks for the kind note! I’d sign it buddy but that would sound insincere.
You’re friend and fellow blogger,
Doug

hey now, why hate on emeril?
haha
hm, i don’t understand how the image relates to your post btw.
i completely agree that personal posts are the best. in fact, unless it is breaking news or something along those lines, i only find an urge to write when it is personal. thus, my blog is very sporadic. kudos to you for keeping up a consistent blog that is interesting and personal!

Emeril? Not following there… The image is something I found on google images. Funny picture, not sure what it means. But ‘kicking it up a notch’ for the blog is what I was going for. Too far-fetched eh? =)
Yea blogs are conversational tools. So I want to keep this blog personal and conversational so we can all have super awesome convos!

Emeril Lagasse (the popular food net work chef) has his trademark line, “Let’s KICK IT UP A NOTCH!”
The image you used is mocking him.
“Stove man”. Get it??
