    There’s No Free Lunch!

    Posted on 17 January 2007

So I was on a flight down to Los Angeles earlier today, I was really excited because it’s been awhile since I got an “A” seat for Southwest (first priority seating).

Right when I got on-board, I saw an open spot in the first row. I immediately grabbed it and felt so happy with myself, because: 1) No hassle to find a seat and squeeze in between folks, and 2) first to get off the plane! Double Yippeee!!

    Then came the caveat.

It wasn’t till I got my drink that I realized that there was no tray. No place to put my drink. I had to hold it. For a long time. It kinda sucked.

    The bottom line:

    There’s no free lunch ;)

Would this be considered a Catch 22?
    :?

Not a Catch 22. You got extra leg room in place of a tray. Personally I wouldn’t choose a first row seat, because I like to dump my trash in the seat pocket and then go to sleep. But I always throw my trash away at the end!

Ditto! (after this experience) Being the first one out did feel pretty good. But no tray was an ouchouch. ;)

I thought front row seats usually have a tray built into the arm rest.

I thought so as well, negative on Southwest airplanes (at least the one I was on). I searched long and hard. haha
