Google, the Rookie Michael Jordan of Tech Companies
Remember Michael Jordan when he first entered the NBA? Remember when he then won six championships and broke records later in his career?
Google is the Michael Jordan of tech companies (currently in its rookie years).

Yes, that is a Google T-shirt
Today, Google started to make its presence in the radio industry. Remember that post on the “Purchase-1-Share-of-Google-Stock” Philosophy? Let’s make it a bit clearer why investing in Google is a smart idea. I can guarantee you that you’ve used (at one point if not daily — or hourly) at least two of the following services acquired or launched by Google.
A list of Google items that took place in the last year (off the top of my mind, not in order):

- Google launches radio-ad business
- Google acquires Blogger (blogging platform)
- Google acquires Writely (online word processing)
- Google acquires YouTube
- Google launches largest solar cell system project (ever?) for Googleplex
- Gmail launches (& now GTalk & 2.7GB space — and counting)
- Google Calendar (GCal) launches
- Google acquires Picasa
- Google Earth released
- Adsense launches (keyword advertising)
- Google launches in China
- Froogle launches
- oh.. and I think they have a Search Engine too…. :)
How many of these things do you use?
Keep in mind that petty items like Google Video or the slew of miscellaneous services/acquistions aren’t even listed here. This list only nails the ‘key points’. Google is on a roll. It is picking up a Scottie -Picasa- Pippen here, a Steve Kerr there, and let’s not forget Bill Wennington huh?

Writely Wennington
What’s a blog post without some Billy Wennington? :) Soon, Google will have the arsenal to ‘win the championships’ — what is the equivalent in the tech world? This will be when nearly all the electronic-related items you use on a daily-basis in your home or at work is owned by Google.
I rest my case. Google is a good investment. It is the young Michael Jordan of tech companies. It will be (more) legendary.
What do you think?
