Binary City, my first acting gig

    Posted on 14 September 2006

My college buddy, Mark, is studying film at SJSU and wrote a short film last year (2005) called Binary City.  He asked me to participate in the production of this movie … as one of the lead actors.

    (Some shots from the film)

At first, I was pretty flattered and also a bit nervous about it since I had no real experience or training in acting — but looked forward to the challenge.  So after a year or so of shooting, the film is very near completion.  The whole experience was totally fun, I learned a lot about the process of filmmaking.

One of my flaws is I laugh way too much when we’re shooting, sometimes it’ll be 5 takes before I deliver a serious performance. haha But despite the long, extended shoot schedules, the atmosphere at every shoot was all fun.

You can watch the trailer here, the film will be submitted to film festivals in late 2006.

    Proud of you Mark!
