Carla Bruni is a French artist with a killer sound, i’ve been listening to a lot of her songs lately and it really brings you to another place. Her lyrics are all in French but the tone and texture of her voice combined with a raw classical (and sometimes steel-stringed) guitar is truly unmatched. I find not knowing/understanding the lyrics to a song to be a luxury… because then you have even more freedom to interpret the messages or feelings behind the curtain… and make the piece your own.

Carla Bruni is bloody awesome. My brother-in-law turned me on to her. Couple other singers/bands that occupy the same brain-space as she does for me are Kate Earl and Loquat… although Loquat might be a little shiny for your tastes.
